Jimah East Power Plant Project (Completed 2019)
Jimah East Power Plant is one of the world’s largest coal power plants currently under construction. The JEP Project, also known as Project 3B, started when the first concrete was poured in July 2016. After its full commission, the plant will eventually increase Malaysia’s generation capacity from the current 22,748MW to 26,940MW by utilising 4 generation units. Two coal-fired units with 1000MW capacity each are being constructed at the site which should secure the power supply.
