As a designer, detailer and fabricator, Styria is considered a heavy weight in the South African fabrication industry.
With its single-minded focus and ethos of commitment to client satisfaction, Styria established a sound base, with many blue-chip clients entrusting it with repeat business. In South Africa, Styria has been awarded major contracts by Anglo Platinum, Impala Platinum, Lonmin Platinum, AngloGold Ashanti, Omnia Fertilizer, The South African Breweries and Thakadu Battery Materials, and practically all major project houses, including Hatch, Senet, TWP, SNC-Lavalin, AMEC-Minproc, Lycopodium and E+PC. Construction leaders such as Group 5, Murray & Roberts and international mining houses, including ENRC, ERG, Freeport McMoRan, and First Quantum Minerals have depended on Styria's capability, capacity and responsibility to partner on projects in Namibia, Madagascar, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo to name but a few.
An intimate understanding of materials, together with craftsmanship, professionalism and quality has resulted in a robust company which has exhibited consistent growth and now has two large facilities in Gauteng. Many hundreds of Tanks, Pressure Vessels, Columns, Crystallizers, Silos, Cathodes, Heat Exchangers, Autoclaves, Settlers and other capital equipment have been designed, fabricated and installed by Styria over the past several decades.
Its shallow management hierarchy affords hands-on control of projects. And, its depth of engineering know-how separates Styria from “jobber” fabricators. Styria prides itself on solutions provision, rather than simple reaction to client brief.
Styria has vast expertise in different materials and fabrication techniques, specialising in stainless steel (including lean duplex stainless steel) and carbon steel, as well as the exotics such as ZeCor, Hastelloy and Titanium.
Styria prides itself on good inter-personal relationships within the Company where many of the employees have over 20 years service, including some of which who have graduated in literacy and numeracy through the Company school.
