Posting Summary
The City of Calgary (The City) identified Call to Action #82 in the White Goose Flying Report to establish a permanent memorial which will commemorate all Indian Residential School survivors, lost children, and inter-generational trauma survivors.

The City will be pursuing a two-stage design competition to secure a qualified Indigenous lead designer for the Indian Residential School Memorial. Individuals or design teams are welcome to apply, this includes professional Indigenous artists. It is imperative for this project that people with lived experience of the Indian Residential School system, either as survivors, inter-generational survivors, 60’s scoop survivors, or in general, Indigenous, Inuit or Métis Peoples in Canada, lead the design and construction of the Indian Residential School Memorial.
