South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority (SCBCTA) also known as TransLink is responsible for planning, financing and operating the public transportation system throughout Metro Vancouver pursuant to the South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority Act.             
TransLink, together with our partners, stakeholders and operating companies, collectively forms the TransLink Enterprise (collectively the “TLE”)                  
 
Project Summary
The SCOT System is required to be upgraded because many of its subsystems are nearing end-of-life, the planned expansions of SkyTrain demand more capacity and the system needs to be modernized to improve its resiliency and overall customer experience.
 
This upgrade will consist of building a new system alongside the current system and performing a staged migration and expansion of connected devices while keeping the whole system in operation.
