Corporate Security has recently completed a LEAN Six-Sigma project which identified several areas for improvement in the ID card production process.  Currently, employees are required to attend the Photo ID office in downtown Halifax during their first week of employment to have their picture taken and an ID card printed.  Given the geographical distribution of employees and the time required to complete this task, it was determined that a more efficient means of capturing employee images should be developed.  Also, maintaining a separate database of employee photos has led to errors and an inability to maintain accuracy as there are poor linkages to the existing SAP system.
