This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the Province of Nova Scotia (the “Province”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for the provision of physician consulting services to the Department of Health and Wellness (DHW), as further described in the RFP Particulars (Appendix C) (the “Deliverables”). This RFP is being conducted pursuant to the Nova Scotia Sustainable Procurement Policy and Procurement Manual.

The Health Workforce Branch of the DHW is seeking the services of a Physician Consultant to provide support, advice and representation on a range of issues related to insured medical services policy, negotiations with providers, audits and appeals, out‐of‐province and out‐of‐country referrals, determination of medical necessity of services, among other topics. The Physician Consultant will also provide support and advice across the Department and directly to the Deputy Minister and Minister, as required.
