Q: What is the budget for the Curator?

A: We are not disclosing the budget at this time and the listed opportunity amount is a preliminary estimate, subject to substantial revision if needed. We are asking proponents to provide an hourly rate and will pay the Curator for hours worked. A budget and final scope of work for the project will be agreed upon with the successful proponent.

TransLink is releasing a call for a Curator to lead a public art process in partnership with the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations. The artwork shall wrap the exterior of the new SeaBus vehicle and may also include pieces in the vehicle interior. The Curator shall work with the three First Nations and TransLink to select the artists and work with selected artists to develop site-specific designs. If interested, the Curator may also facilitate the artwork fabrication and installation, as well as coordinating project blessing ceremonies and/or launch events. We hope you are interested in this opportunity and welcome any questions you may have. Please also feel free to forward to others.
